Due to the instability of the Windows system, the network icon in the lower right corner of the desktop may change to a globe after connecting to VPN (as shown below). You can solve this problem by the following method.
1. Intel Connectivity Network Service / Intel Connectivity Service incompatibility issues
If the computer has this service, there may be compatibility issues. You can set it up according to the following steps:
Press Windows+R;
Enter Services.msc in the input box and press Enter. The "Service" dialog box pops up;
Find "Intel Connectivity Network Service / Intel Connectivity Service" and double-click to enter the corresponding service property operation panel;
Find "Service Status" and select Disable, and select "Disable" in the "Start Type" drop-down menu;
Click "Apply" and restart the device
Return to the "Service" dialog box to check whether Intel Connectivity Network Service / Intel Connectivity Service is disabled successfully
Disable successfully
2. Special settings for Dell computers
Some settings in Dell computers will affect the use of VPN connections. You can solve the problem according to the following steps:
Press Windows+R;
Then enter Services.msc in the input box and press Enter. The "Service" dialog box pops up;
Find the following three services
"ExpressConnect AP Selector Service"
"ExpressConnect Dynamic Bandwidth Management”
“ExpressConnect Network Service”
Double-click to enter the corresponding service properties operation panel;
Find “Service Status” and select Disable; Select “Disable” from the “Startup Type” drop-down menu;
Click “Apply” to restart the device
